I can’t decide which is best: an earlier vacation with more time to prepare for Christmas, or what it is now with four days to prepare, but the rest of the vacation to kick back and enjoy the time off (when I’m not grading and contemplating end-of-semester grades). I guess it doesn’t matter, since most school districts do the latter and teachers don’t get a vote (as far as I can tell).
One thing is crystal clear: I look forward to spending time with family and writing over the next week and a half.
